This episode maps the emergence of technoculture in Paris during the first decade of the 20th Century. When in Montmartre, an outer suburb of Paris, Picasso and Braque developed Cubism against the backdrop of intense period of cultural and technological convergence. Informed by the 1900 World's Fair in Paris and the films of the Lumiere Brothers artists such as Picasso, writers like Apollinaire and performers such as Leo Fuller, ushered in a new techno-century and a new modernist aesthetic.
